Kosova Anthropologica (KA) invites applications for new editors to join its editorial team. KA seeks scholars committed to academic excellence, ethical publishing, and collaborative editorial work. The appointment aims to strengthen the journal’s editorial capacity and support its continued development as an internationally recognized platform for anthropological scholarship.
Role and Responsibilities
Editors are expected to:
- oversee peer-review processes in their area of expertise
- contribute to editorial decision-making and policy development
- uphold high ethical and academic standards in publishing
- collaborate with authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board
- support the journal’s strategic growth and international visibility
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
- a strong academic background in anthropology or a related discipline
- a solid record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications
- prior editorial or peer-review experience (preferred)
- commitment to ethical publishing, transparency, and impartiality
- ability to work collaboratively within an editorial team
- strong anthropological interest in Kosova, Albania and regional studies
Application Requirements
Interested candidates must submit:
- A current academic CV highlighting publications and editorial/review experience
- A brief statement of interest (max. 1–2 pages) outlining their motivation and vision for contributing to KA
- Contact details of at least two professional referees
Applicants must disclose any institutional affiliations, financial interests, or other potential conflicts of interest that could influence editorial responsibilities.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by the KA Editorial Board (or an appointed selection committee) based on academic merit, editorial experience, and ethical commitment. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview. Final appointments will be made by the Editorial Board.
Editors will be appointed for a fixed term of three to five years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and adherence to journal policies and ethical standards.
Ethical Standards and Accountability
All editors are expected to comply with the journal’s editorial policies and ethical guidelines. Periodic performance reviews will assess contributions, editorial conduct, and engagement. Editors may be removed if responsibilities are not fulfilled or ethical standards are compromised.
