Kosova Anthropologica – Announcement Following Editorial Board Annual Meeting - 31 March 2025

We are pleased to share updates from the Kosova Anthropologica Editorial Board Annual Meeting, held online on March 31, 2025. The meeting brought together our editorial team to discuss the journal’s recent progress and strategic direction. 

Key points from the meeting included:

Indexing & Guidelines
The Editor-in-Chief , Arsim Canolli, presented updates on journal indexing and introduced revised journal guidelines, now fully aligned with COPE standards. These cover areas such as editorial decision-making, ethics, peer review policies, author guidelines, and the use of AI. After discussion updates were approved by the Editorial Board. 

AI Policy Development
The Editors dedicated time to discuss the ethical dimensions of AI in academic publishing. It was agreed that AI assistance content (e.g., methods, figures, images) must be clearly disclosed in submitted manuscripts. KA will continue reviewing its policies in light of global academic developments.

Other Updated Documents
Updated versions of the Author Agreement and Peer Review Form were presented and approved by the board.

Expanding Focus & Next Steps
Kosova Anthropologica reaffirms its regional focus, welcoming contributions from researchers interested in the region and even beyond. Editors discussed future opportunities and directions, thematic and special issues as well as contributions beyond the region.
